The track 'The State I'm In' has a rich shoegaze sound with melodious alternative lines that are perfectly reflected in the rhythm section. The vocals is insightful and spiritual, the singer talks about the search for his future and separation from the past.  

The beautiful arrangement keeps our attention throughout the entire musical composition and this alternative rock has a catchy motif that is also similar to a folk song with self-digging lyrics where life and love are of greatest interest. Merrymount! perfectly showed the troubled subject by embodying it with interesting rock with an open and inspiring sound.
