Ursula Burns – The Secret Melodies of Trees
There is no doubt that with the release of the solo album of the Belfast harpist Ursula Burns, the possibilities of such an instrument as the harp have been revealed with even greater force. The album 'The Secret Melodies of Trees' was released on October 11 and is the quintessence of the entire 30-year creative path of this great musician.

Ursula Burns opens the harp in a new light and infuses this music with incredible expression and touch. Before recording a full-length album, Ursula Burns was inspired by her trip the Paraguayan Harp Festival in October 2023. This incredible journey into the fabulous world of music brought this musical perspective and hope that the harp has not yet fully spoken its word in modern music.

Ursula Burns started recording the album at the beginning of 2024 and in a great elation once even recorded 8 tracks in one studio day. The album was produced by renowned violinist Dónal O’Connor, who also introduced a part of his talent and hopes into this sound. On some tracks of the album, we also hear the whistles of John McSherry, who dilutes the colorful palette of melismas of harp music with folk minimalism.

Album 'The Secret Melodies of Trees' by Ursula Burns is a new word in the harp musical heritage and everyone who loves classical and folk music should listen to this record.
