Jim Capaldi – Short Cut Draw Blood
More such news. Jim Capaldi, the legend of the British rock, one of the founders of the band Traffic, is again in the field of view of music media. His solo album 'Short Cut Draw Blood' of 1975 was first released recently on all streaming platforms around the world.

This is the musician's third solo album and his first work since the disbandment of Traffic. By that time, Jim Capaldi was already a world star and his music influenced world music processes. His lyrics are high-quality poetry on social themes and inner love experiences were the basis of his solo career. As a first-class musician, he brought his works to the world music arena. It is difficult to describe his achievements in a few words but his music speaks about him better than our words.

The album 'Short Cut Draw Blood' consists of 9 songs by Jim. The song 'Goodbye Love' opens this music masterpiece. In the rhythm of bossa nova with groove guitar and harmonious backing vocals, Jim's main vocals say goodbye with love. A pure saxophone solo vibrates with refrains at the end: 'Goodbuy Love'. The beautiful lyrics about love in the song 'It's All Up To You' brought the author success and the song reached # 27 in the British chart. The chorus on high notes with claps, maracas and tambourine enriches the whole composition only with analog methods of making music.  Instrumental with strings and simple guitar melody continues with funk bass and rhythm on acoustic guitar, which sounds really cool. 'Love Hurts' went even further in the conquest of the musical Olympus by Jim Capaldi.  The song reached # 4 on the UK chart thanks to experiments with disco and the extraordinary melody of the lyrics and sound that predicted the arrival of new disco music. Jim thinly sensed trends in the general movement of popular music and successfully used this knowledge in his work. As for rock music, the musician used elements of this style to reinforce the content of his lyrics on sharply social topics such as we hear in the rock song 'Short Cut Draw Blood'. Jim's vocal and delicious guitar solo will appeal to all connoisseurs of the classic rock.

Of course, Jim Capaldi is a person of the highest rank of musicians and composers who have ever worked in the field of rock music. We appreciate his contribution to the development of the British rock scene and world pop culture in general.  We couldn't miss this album past our ears hopefully every respectful old school music lover will add this cool gift to their playlist.
