'Beyond the Perpendicular' is the third full-length album by the musician recently released. It consists of 8 tracks that are listened to in one breath. Russell plays completely on all instruments and we are amazed at his ability to combine all components of jazz compositions. Everything sounds in the cool jazz style with a blues tinge. In the first song '8 Bhar Crawl' we hear the rhythm of the bossa nova and the light piano echoes with a jazz guitar and a saxophone. 'Step Up' has a beautiful introduction played in the Armstrong style on trumpet and it all suddenly changes into an ensemble led by a guitar that gives way to the jazz organ. In the song 'The Poll' Russell adds to the instrumental his classic cool jazz vocals as Chet Baker or Stan Getz and the wandering bass storms the rhythm by accentuating the rhythm with a guitar.
Rj Bacon' music sounds like the soundtrack to a 50s movie with cozy and smoky jazz clubs and urban bustle outside. Listen to the album 'Beyond the Perpendicular' below on Spotify and let's love the jazz from Rj Bacon.
