Barney Barnett began his musical career in South Wales and its capital, Cardiff. Before starting his solo project, the singer and composer gained extensive experience over the years playing across the UK and Europe. Honing his skills, he got his vision of his own music incompatible with what he did as a member of other bands. And so the decision was made. The debut single 'No Favours' was released and became the first step towards the release of a full-length album, which is scheduled for release this year. In Barney's single, we caught invisible musical threads taken from his inspirations.
The guitar in the style of classical Oasis sets the main background of the whole song and in the corners of the collisions of the musical parts we hear Nirvana accents that make the song rhythmically alive. The rock and vocal of the singer are driven by music and tell us about pride and other human vices that prevent us from communicating properly with each other. The highlight of the whole work is its culmination, when a saxophone in the melodic style of David Bowie and the newer The Zutons adds playfulness and allows us to easily remember this leitmotif.
