d’Z & Bernadette Dengler ft. Chris Korzec – Shout!
By indiedockmusicblog
The collaborative single from drummer-songwriter d'Z and Austrian vocalist Bernadette Dengler arrives with the kind of unhurried confidence that marks genuinely crafted music. Born from a friendship that began in 2021, "Shout!" represents the meeting point of meticulous arrangement and spontaneous creativity—a balance that proves remarkably difficult to achieve yet sounds effortless when executed properly.
Tonneau – Crush on You
By indiedockmusicblog
The Amsterdam trio Tonneau have delivered something genuinely special with "Crush on You" – a track that announces their arrival as a force capable of matching emotional intelligence with sonic ambition. Ton van Dijk, Jan van der Hoeven, and Alies van der Hoeven have been quietly perfecting their craft in the Netherlands, but this single marks a thrilling evolution, a moment where restraint gives way to full-throttated confidence without sacrificing an ounce of intimacy.
Snowapple – Utopia
By indiedockmusicblog
The Amsterdam-based collective's third offering arrives as both manifesto and meditation, a carefully constructed response to our collective anxieties wrapped in the kind of sonic experimentation that recalls the more adventurous moments of late-period Talk Talk. Recorded primarily at Studio Morcina with producer Owen Pratt, 'Utopia' presents itself as a deliberate antidote to apocalyptic thinking, though it's far too intelligent to offer simple comfort.
Jaivy – The Garden
By indiedockmusicblog
Dylan Jaivy Blume emerges from the unlikely musical outpost of Drachten with a debut that quietly announces the arrival of a genuine talent. "The Garden" unfolds like a perfectly curated afternoon spent in contemplative solitude, its jazz-inflected melodic lines weaving through Bossa Nova rhythms with the kind of unhurried confidence that speaks to an artist who understands the power of restraint.
Neko – Ludo
By indiedockmusicblog
When an artist strips away pretence and offers up their most vulnerable truths, the result can be transformative. On "Ludo," Amsterdam's Neko does precisely that, transforming childhood board game battles into a meditation on familial love that resonates with startling emotional clarity.
Simone Eversdjik – 2 Years
By indiedockmusicblog
There's something quietly devastating about the way Simone Eversdjik approaches loss on "2 Years," her latest single that serves as both eulogy and embrace. The Dutch singer-songwriter has crafted what might well be the year's most affecting piano ballad—a piece that manages to feel both achingly personal and bracingly universal in its tribute to a beloved maternal figure.
Curtis Millen – Standing On Business
By indiedockmusicblog
Curtis Millen's "Standing On Business" arrives with the kind of earned confidence that can only come from someone who's spent years proving themselves night after night on stages both small and significant. Here's an artist who has clearly worked his way up through the traditional routes—jam sessions, community gigs, the slow building of musical relationships—rather than emerging fully-formed from some A&R executive's fever dream. The result is refreshingly authentic.
Martin Kuiper – Dreaming of a Sea of Time
By indiedockmusicblog
There's something rather touching about an artist who waits until 49 to fulfil their musical ambitions, and Martin Kuiper's sophomore effort, Dreaming Of A Sea Of Time, carries the weight of accumulated years with considerable grace. The Dutch songwriter's circuitous path—from physics student researching pop and rock vocal techniques to journalist at MTV London, then founder of the expansive video interview platform FaceCulture and creator of intimate live documentary formats—has clearly informed his mature approach to songwriting. After conducting nearly 15,000 interviews with artists and encouraging countless musicians to share their stories, Kuiper has finally stepped from behind the microphone to in front of it. Following his debut To Feel Is To Believe by a mere ten months, this five-track EP finds the Dutch songwriter expanding his sonic palette whilst retaining the melodic sensibilities that marked his initial offering.
Alan Lauris – Break
By indiedockmusicblog
Dutch singer-songwriter and producer Alan Lauris has released his third album 'Break' which he has been creating for the past 30 years. Independently refining every detail of each song, Alan Lauris brought other wonderful musicians to the recording, each bringing their own unique talents.
