Only 4 musicians were involved in the recording, each of whom organically filled the space of this rhythmic composition. Live music from Viscula provided a combination of professional qualities of musicians and fragrant creative atmosphere around the creation of this track.
In addition to Viscula's own musicians, the album 'IV' including single 'Rhumba' featured the legendary bassist Alexander Titov, who has been playing in the most famous Russian rock bands Kino and Aquarium since the 1980s, although now he based in London, UK. Alexander usually plays fretless bass but this track he recorded on ancient semi-acoustic bass to emphasize the tumbau of vintage latin bass.
His bass goes well with the guitar parts by Vitali, recognized by Arts Council England as an Exceptional Talent in the field of music. In the song 'Rhumba' the guitar is combined in a duet with the bass and overlaps with original echoes and twists.
Vitali founded Visula in 2002 in Lutsk, Ukraine. Since then, the band Viscula has traveled many tours around the world and had the honor to perform on the stages of 18 countries. In 2013, at the main festival in Ukraine 'Chervona Ruta', the band was recognized as 'Best Indie Artists'. Since 2018, the band is based in London, where it conducts active creative and concert activities.
Guitar short melisms sound relaxed and meditatively against the background of a real trip hop provided by drummer Damo. Of course, Damo is one of the best Brighton drummers and besides Viscula he plays in the 00s cult band The Electric Soft Parade. His skill and charisma brought freshness and assertiveness to the track, crazy energy and fantastic groove.
Alan, a constant companion of the band since 2017, with his jazz organ brought conciseness and sophistication to this composition. Alan is a true professional in his field and his experience of participating in various famous music projects in the UK is invaluable.
The single 'Rhumba' with its originality of instrumentation and arrangement anticipates release a strong record that Viscula can be proud of. Famous British producer George Shilling, known by intensive work with Blur and Primal Scream, worked on the new Viscula sound and managed to curb the band's sound and bring it to the lux level.
The artwork was prepared by the well-known Bristol collage artist Tom Hodgkinson, who designed artworks for cool bands such as Keane and Archive. He works with analog materials from which he creates his unforgettable masterpieces of art.
