Davis West – Bedroom Bluegrass
Japanese-American musician and composer Davis West is based in Berlin where he creates and produces his own music. On September 1, he released his new album 'Bedroom Bluegrass'.

The album consists of 12 tracks and reveals a modern interpretation of bluegrass and folk music. As a violinist and multi-instrumentalist, Davis West played all parts of this album except parts for the invited special guests who brightened up this wonderful and lively album.

In the song 'Liontrot', the soft bass follows the melody of a raw violin flying masterfully past the complex structure of the composition and returning to the main refrain. String arrangement and electronic elements add some zest to this piece. 'Chromeforest' is a folk track that sounds on the basis of acoustic instruments in a squalling rhythm as if inviting to dance. The acoustic guitar plays its solo awesomely transmitting its melodies to the main violin.

'Notebrush Jig' continues the classic folk motifs. The composition turns into beautiful string duets and completely overwhelms the familiar melody. 'Coinflip' is a vocal track full of electronics and jazz mood. Charming string arrangements with soft strokes embrace this experimental track. The track 'Silvercloud' sounds great with jazz double bass and string groove.
