Sofia Dragt – Islands
This girl is a composer and singer-songwriter from the Netherlands. She divides her work into writing soundtracks for documentaries and recording her stories embodied in her songs. Her name is Sofia Dragt and she recently released her new EP called 'Islands'. The artist wrote all the songs during her trip to an island in Norway where she was inspired by the majesty of the grandiose landscapes.

In the song 'Old Boat' we hear Sofia's gentle singing where she talks about meeting the old boat. If this boat could speak how many interesting stories he could tell. A soft piano accompanies the singer along with a synthesizer background. The easy beats of rhythm and unsurpassed backing vocals smooth out the surface of this song.

'Underwater' sounds like a medieval ballad with its rhythm and vocal line. All this is skillfully perfected by Sofia in her talented hands and cute ideas.

The minor composition 'Another One' shows the state of mind when always wants change and always this hunger for something new moves the main character of the song forward to unknown places with an unknown future. The beat of the rhythm like sound of the heart sways together with the pensiveness of the vocal line.

The mini-album is completed by the track 'Out Of Town', continuing the traveling concept of Sofia's work. Here we hear a full ensemble that performs live music in the style of New Wave with its harmonious experiments that makes the song original in sound. Guitars have a big role to play in creating a musical canvas that develops from pop-rock to a real Christmas celebration.
