It is right to say that real talents are honed over the years growing from a simple stone into a precious ornament. After receiving a good musical education at Nelson Mandela University, Roscoe reached a new level by presenting a new work as a musician - EP 'Confession Tapes'. Just three songs from FiveSidedDice allow us to present the current state of the indie scene in South Africa.
The song 'Wretched' is actually divided into two parts and the first of them is a lyrical alternative rock with elements of emo and hardcore with a pronounced guitar and vocals in the background. The second part is more lyrical and is sung in two voices with a good atmosphere of guitar and rhythm that seems to move away from the main motive.
'Save Our Own Lives' is a powerful pop punk with harmonious solutions that sound like a mixture of classical music with alternative rock. And suddenly everything turns into reggae and then into ska punk with back vocalists.
The final track has been announced as a remix and it's called 'I Found My Home'. The acoustic guitar accompanies hip-hop rhythm and rap of invited vocalists alternating with the main melodic vocals. A sensitive song about the most precious thing in our lives, our house where we always want to return.
The composer's creativity is felt from the first his track and his compositional decisions are worth noting.
