Viscula -IV
Stories of various rock bands same as stories of people who have their ups and downs, running, stops and turns. The lifeline of the rock band may end abruptly, or may last for decades. The band Viscula at the end of 2022 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its creative activity. Their path is interesting and unique.

Founded in 2002 in the Ukrainian city of Lutsk, the band Viscula later changed its location to China and America until it moved to London, UK. At the end of last year, on December 17, Viscula released its fourth full-length album, which is called 'IV'. It is noteworthy that this is their first instrumental album and the first such experience in such an original role. The album 'IV' has a unique sound provided by the famous sound producer George Shilling, previously worked with Blur and Primal Scream. In addition to this world master of sound, the legendary bassist Alexander Titov joined the creation of the album, performing all parts on his fretless bass. His parts are known to all fans of the Soviet rock bands Kino and Aquarium.

The cover of the album was created by the famous British collage artist Tom Hodgkinston, who previously created an art cover for bands such as Keane and Archive. He works with analog materials where his tools are just paper and glue. By the way, besides the previous album 'IV', singles 'Seagulls' and 'Rhumba' got also his artworks. Work on the new record lasted about 3 months in a professional studio in Brighton, UK. All the musicians who worked on the new Viscula music put a lot of effort into the realization of this atmospheric and chamber music. The stylistic orientation of the tracks presented in the album balances between the elements of post-rock, psychedelic rock, folk rock and trip hop.

The idea of sounding was conceived as the maximum organic with a minimum of effects. Each track has only 4 main lines composed by guitar, bass, keyboards and drums. All the music was built in such a way that they could easily be played by 4 musicians on a live stage. This is another additional explanation of the authentic name of the album. The record includes 8 instrumental compositions that conceptually complement each other and develops a unique plot when the track list sounds. In their new work, the band Viscula tried to show instrumental rock music as a separate genre of musical art. Their new chamber instrumental rock n roll is inspired by the legendary spirit of the rock deity and cult roots based on international collaboration.
