From the first bars of Syncop Orchestra's arrangement, Maestro George Kolta announces his intentions plainly: this will be a work that refuses to choose between East and West, between the concert hall and the zawiya, between reverence and spectacle. It succeeds, and it succeeds without breaking a sweat.
